The PHA Modernization Office is responsible for the planning and implementation of renovation projects funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Capital Funds Program (CFP). Each year a detailed Annual Statement is submitted to HUD for review and approval. The statement includes the work items proposed for that fiscal year, together with the amounts budgeted for each item.
The PHA Modernization Office supports public housing policy for the 21st century which is rooted in the concept that all Americans have a “decent home in a suitable living environment.” We take great pride in preparing and implementing plans which have included lead and asbestos abatement, energy efficiency, complete building renovations, parking lot renovations, new stoops, handrails and safer walkways, efficiency apartment conversion, modernization of common areas in senior high rise buildings, installation of sprinkler systems, landscaping, window and door replacement, painting and repair of vinyl siding , improved ventilation systems, bathroom and kitchen projects, heating system conversions, and wonderful new playgrounds for our children.
It is the goal of the Modernization Office to continue to work hard in providing decent and affordable housing in a safe and respectable neighborhood for PHA residents.
